SoapBoxxer: Opinions can be addictive
April 7th, 2008 by Mr. Fanrastic
There’s a new social site on the block, and be warned: it’s addictive. SoapBoxxer lets you pose an opinion and gives users a simple choice: Agree or Disagree. But here’s the catch: You get Authority points for sharing your opinion, posting comments, and posing statements for others to give their opinion on. You also get points whenever someone votes on one of your opinion polls. Oh, did I mention they have a slick AJAX interface that gives you live feedback on your Authority Rating?
The site is quite new, so I’m hopeful they will expose an API in the future. Will SoapBoxxer be more than just a flash in the pan? You decide.

What would an API do for a site like this?

If they had an API, I could embed opinion polls easily in my site. If they do it right, it may also be able to mine their data to discover interesting trends.
